Frequently Asked Questions
Will we get to visit artisans from who we can also buy things?
Yes, most of the artisans you visit will also have some stock of their work, it encourages them when they see an appreciation of their work, first hand.
Is it possible to do a hands-on workshop with any of the artisans we meet?
We usually set up one hands-on workshop during some of our craft & textile tours, depending on the time available. Its easier for artisans to do a small demo of their work, as our itinerary is rather packed and there isn’t a lot of time to keep for workshops which can easily take between 2-3 hours.
It’s easy to set up workshops on a customised tour, as then it’s easier to manage time.
I have recommendations from friends on the artisans I must certainly meet on this trip. Will you be able to set this up for me?
Please do share their names with us. Our own database includes the finest craftsmen, so chances are you won’t need to meet any others. That said, if we are customising a tour for you, we can certainly consider setting up these.
Will artisan homes or workshops have usable toilet facilities for us ?
Artisan homes have facilities which are clean though rudimentary, and most often ‘Indian style’ – they are not necessarily up to our standards. It’s best to let your facilitator know in advance, so he/she can
figure this out for you.
Can I pay by card when I'm shopping at an artisan’s ?
These days, it’s possible to use Gpay ( for Indian guests only), if you’re not carrying cash, and some do have a facility to accept credit card payments.
