The ama Stays and Trails, a brand of the Taj Hotels that curates and runs boutique properties for private bookings across India, came to us to curate exclusive experiences in Goa that their guests could enjoy. We crafted and served up six of the best.
Secret Saligao
A heritage walk through one of Goa’s most interesting villages that includes the history of the popular “white church”, a violin serenade in the village, and a visit to the museum-like home of the first family of feni in Goa.
Unseen Candolim
This is a heritage trail through the heart of India’s party circuit that tells us the backstory of the famous Aguada Fort, the connections Goa’s most famous son has to the area, the origin of bebinca, and the area’s links to World War 2.
Pitstop Panjim
This specially curated walk through Fontainhas, the heart of Panjim’s Latin Quarter, uncovers fascinating nuggets of history like the history of Panjim’s first mint and the dark history of its square and the histories, and rivalries, of the city’s leading social clubs.
A Wonderland Walk
This exploration takes guests through one of India’s finest private gardens in which the owners are carefully nurturing some of the world’s rarest plants like orchids.
Befriending Feni
To understand feni is to understand Goa better and over a few hours, this experience ensures that you get up with your head and heart stuffed full of Goa’s favourite booze via a deeper understanding of its history and samplings of the classic flavours as well as rare infusions.
The Ol’Factory Dining Experience
This is a culinary exploration of Luso-Goan heritage that included a 5 course meal, stories included, savoured in one of Goa’s last private mansions.
